Office 2024 (LTSC Professional Plus 2024) activates through KMS exactly like its predecessors - here is the correct GVLK, the ospp.vbs command sequence, and a one-click alternative that does it all for you.
Office 2024 still installs to the Office16 folder (it shares the 16.0 codebase). Open an elevated Command Prompt, switch to the Office directory and run:
> cd /d "%ProgramFiles%\Microsoft Office\Office16" > cscript ospp.vbs /inpkey:XJ2XN-FW8RK-P3HMP-KK9R4-CD74Y > cscript ospp.vbs /sethst:kms.windowskms.com > cscript ospp.vbs /act > cscript ospp.vbs /dstatus
GVLK for Office LTSC Professional Plus 2024: XJ2XN-FW8RK-P3HMP-KK9R4-CD74Y · For 32-bit Office on 64-bit Windows, use %ProgramFiles(x86)%\Microsoft Office\Office16. /dstatus should report LICENSE STATUS: ---LICENSED---.
Microsoft sells Office 2024 in two channels. The retail channel (Office Home 2024, Office Home & Business 2024) is activated with a Microsoft account or a one-time retail key. The volume channel - Office LTSC Professional Plus 2024 and Office LTSC Standard 2024 - is built for organizations and activates against a Key Management Service host instead. A volume edition carries no key of its own: it needs a Generic Volume License Key (GVLK), published by Microsoft in its KMS client activation keys documentation, plus a reachable KMS host on TCP port 1688.
All of the licensing work is done by ospp.vbs, the Office Software Protection Platform script that ships inside the Office16 folder. The sequence above installs the GVLK (/inpkey), points the suite at a KMS host (/sethst) and triggers activation (/act). Once activated, Office renews silently every 180 days for as long as a host answers.
The manual route works, but it is unforgiving: you must open an elevated prompt, cd into the correct Office16 path (which differs between 32-bit and 64-bit installs), paste the exact GVLK for your SKU - Pro Plus, Standard, Project and Visio 2024 each use different keys - and have a KMS host address ready. One mistyped character returns an error such as 0xC004F069 or 0x8007007B with no hint about which part failed.
KMSPico removes every one of those steps. It detects the installed Office 2024 edition, selects the correct volume key by itself, stands up a local KMS emulator on your own PC and completes activation in a single run - and it activates Windows at the same time, so one tool covers the whole machine. Antivirus products sometimes label KMS tools with a generic "hacktool" warning; that is an expected false positive tied to how any KMS utility writes licensing state, and the build distributed here is verified clean before release.
If your Office came from a retail installer, ospp.vbs /inpkey will refuse a GVLK because the licensing channel does not accept volume keys. The fix is converting the installation to the volume (LTSC) channel first - something KMSPico handles automatically during its run, with no reinstall and no loss of documents or settings.
KMSPico installs the right Office 2024 key, configures the KMS host and activates Windows + Office together. No Command Prompt, no GVLK lookup, no typos.
Download KMSPico FreeOffice 2024 moved to a newer servicing baseline, but the activation plumbing is deliberately unchanged from Office 2021: the same ospp.vbs script, the same 180-day renewal cycle, and the same separation between the retail and volume channels. If you have activated any volume Office edition in the last decade, the mental model carries over exactly.
One licence covers the entire suite. Activating Office 2024 once licenses Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and the rest together - there is no per-application activation step, and ospp.vbs /dstatus reports a single licensed SKU for the bundle.
The GVLK itself grants nothing; it only tells Office to look for a Key Management Service. That is why installing the key without a reachable host produces 0xC004F074, and why pointing at a dead host produces errors long after the key was accepted. A local KMS host removes that dependency completely.
Project 2024 and Visio 2024 are separate volume SKUs with their own GVLKs. If either is installed alongside the suite, it must be activated with its matching key - a proper one-click tool detects and handles these companion products in the same run.
You can always confirm where Office stands: ospp.vbs /dstatus shows the last five characters of the installed key, the license status, and the remaining grace period. Seeing ---LICENSED--- with a renewal interval is the definitive confirmation that everything worked.
Because KMS activation only writes licensing state and never patches binaries, it is fully reversible: ospp.vbs /unpkey:XXXXX with the key's last five characters removes the installed key and returns Office to its previous state.
Download the verified release and start activating Windows or Office in seconds.
